Starting a blog. It feels a little like stripping. Getting ready to bare it all. Although in this case, words, not clothes. And there’s no music, although there could be.
What kind of music for stripping? Maybe some bass-heavy EDM. Something hard, nothing dreamy. And no lyrics. Lyrics might get in the way and interrupt the mood.
Okay, so put the music on. I imagine it thumping through the walls. Getting ready to go on, I feel those flutterlies. That’s what I called that sense of nervous excitement when I was a kid. Not butterflies. Flutterflies. I like that sensation. It often means good things to come. Exactly what though? What’s to come in this blog? I’m not exactly sure.
Some short stories for sure. Perhaps samples of my new stuff being released on Amazon. Some random erotic thoughts. A serialized story. Or an archive of already published material.
If this is our first encounter, my writing is edgy modern erotica. Usually, my main characters are women, and usually they are deeply in love (although perhaps not with whoever they’re having sex with). It’s all adult fantasy, intended to be experienced in your mind.
I primarily use words and only utilize images for cover art. None of my writing is AI. I have started experimenting with AI image creation, though.
What gets posted and how often depends on how many “seats” are filled, I suppose. Do strippers dance in empty rooms?
In addition to this blog, much more appears in my newsletter, Avenue Oh. Please take a look. It’s free and you can sign up to receive emails when I post new stories, book updates, or random pleasant thoughts.
Even if you follow me on Amazon and Facebook, those sites won’t necessarily show you my posts and updates. As for X, I primarily set up that account to protect my name, because I know people who’ve had their name (even an unusual name) hijacked by impersonators who skirt X’s policies to embarrass or harass the person whose name they’re using. But I do occasionally post on X, so if you’re there anyway, please feel free to follow me.
What I’m not sure about with this blog and my newsletter is how to handle comments. Erotica is a subject that can cause people who disagree with you or don’t share your tastes to bash or belittle you. Which can be inhibiting, and sometimes intimidating. Comments might also cross the line beyond the atmosphere I’m trying to establish. So, for starters, I’m not allowing comments here and will likely limit comments on my newsletter. So, that’s that, I guess. For the moment. Time to peek around the curtain and see if any seats are filling up. Hope to see you out there.
